I was born in the waiting room of Nanaimo general Hospital with no doctors around. Just my Mom and Dad. As I entered this world my dad noticed that the ambilocal cord was wrapped around my neck. Without hesitation he unraveled the cord and I was born.

My parents divorced when I was young and my dad raised his 3 sons on his own since I was 4 and we have become extremely close. My oldest memory is my dad putting our Pajamas in the dryer so that when we got out of the bathtub we put on warm PJ's. Then we would all lay on the couch and watch the Simpsons before bed.

30 years to the day I was born, in the middle of the night on my 30th birthday I felt a sharp pain in my stomach unlike any other. I knew something was wrong. I got up out of bed and found my dad in the living room suffering a massive stroke that paralyzed him. Visiting him in the hospital was hard. Seeing him hooked up to all the machines barely able to speak. In that moment the only way I could keep tears from streaming down my cheeks was to tell myself that he had lived a long life full of adventure. I couldn't help but think how hard this would be if it was not my old dad in the hospital but a young child.

It is with that thought in mind I am proud to announce that for every pair of pajamas sold we will donate a stuffed animal toy to BC Children's Hospital with the hope that we can make a child in the hospital more comfortable if even for just a moment.
